From the skies to your home with Starlink

The business of internet service providers has always been a monopoly. If you're a new company wanting to enter the ISP business, expect to be under lawsuits and legal actions from the leading players. Their goals are to bankrupt the competition before you even get started.

SpaceX’s Starlink was able to push through the initial barrier. Granite, they have the funds to fight the legal battles, but their approach went in a different direction.

Starlink's target for growth was to target underserved markets, an area traditional providers have avoided. Starlink’s marketing ploy and the initial launch were focused on rural and remote areas. Providing high-speed internet to off-grid customers.

This approach allowed for ample R&D and to scale quickly as they worked out the kinks in the new internet service. As the satellites continue to hit the sky, service areas expand from rural to cities.

Process of Growth

  • Target underserved markets. Focus on rural and remote areas.

  • Provide high-quality service—download speeds of up to 150Mbps.

  • Build a large constellation of satellites. Starlink has launched over 2,000 into orbit.

Innovation and growth can be provided in all industries. Sometimes we need to take a step back and create our path.

Land and Expand Growth Strategy

The land and expand approach's sales goal is to start with a small customer base and grow the business organically through word of mouth and referrals. Upselling consumers to more expensive offerings is one strategy for expanding revenue from existing clientele.

The land-and-expand strategy has many advantages. It might be cheaper than attempting to amass many new consumers quickly. Second, it can aid in developing deeper connections with clients, boosting loyalty and sales. Third, it can aid in bringing in more money in the long run.

The plan for developing land and expand:

  1. Find out who you're trying to reach. Locating your ideal customers is the first order of business. Describe your perfect clientele. Find out what they require and desire. When you know your audience, you can create a sales pitch and promotional materials to resonate with them.

  2. Make a compelling case for your product's worth. Its value proposition sets your product or service apart from the competition. It's the deciding factor in whether or not a customer chooses your business over another. Make sure your USP is simple, direct, and easy to understand.

  3. Give attention to gaining new customers. The strategy aims to draw in a select group of precious clients. When establishing a core clientele, you may focus on deepening your ties with them.

  4. Deliver first-rate service to your clients. Customer service is paramount in every business strategy, but especially in the land and expand model. You'll earn their confidence and loyalty by consistently going above and above for your customers. This will increase the likelihood that they will do business with you again.

  5. Promote additional purchases and product lines. You can upsell and cross-sell to your customers once you've established trust. "upselling" refers to selling different items to an existing consumer. Cross-selling refers to promoting other purchases to a current consumer.

  6. Don't lose touch with your clientele. Maintaining contact with buyers after they've already made a purchase is crucial. You can keep them up-to-date with regular email newsletters, special offers, and event invitations.

Prioritize high-quality work over quantity. Having a small number of happy clients is preferable to having a huge number of dissatisfied ones.

Wait your turn. Customer connections and business growth both need effort and time. Don't anticipate instant gratification.

Be adaptable. Be bold and change your tactics if necessary. You must be flexible enough to adapt to the ever-evolving market.

One viable strategy for corporate expansion is the "land and expand" paradigm. Your chances of success will improve through testing and optimization.

D-Day 1944

June 6th in Military History

On June 6, 1944, Allied forces launched a massive invasion of German-occupied France. Code-named Operation Overlord, the invasion was the largest amphibious operation in history. Over 156,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, and began to push inland. The Germans were caught off guard by the invasion, and the Allies were able to make significant gains. By the end of the day, the Allies had established a foothold in Normandy, and the tide of the war began to turn in their favor.

The success of D-Day was a major turning point in World War II. It led to the liberation of France and the eventual defeat of Germany. The invasion also profoundly impacted the course of the Cold War. The success of D-Day showed that the Allies could mount a successful amphibious invasion, which helped deter the Soviet Union from invading Western Europe.

D-Day was a costly victory. Over 4,000 Allied troops were killed on the first day of the invasion, and thousands more were wounded. However, the sacrifice of these troops was not in vain. D-Day helped to shorten the war and save millions of lives.
