Saturday the 13th of July at 6:11 pm EST, an attempt on President Donald Trump's life occurred. Shortly after Trump took the stage in Butler, PA, shots rang out from a shooter nestled on a nearby rooftop.

Regardless of your political viewpoint, we shouldn’t wish this on either candidate. Let’s let them battle it out through debt and let the people decide who should run this country.

As the information is quickly coming out, we will write a piece briefly outlining what we know so far.

U.S., Singapore Cooperate on Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III and Singapore's Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen participate in a bilateral exchange at the Pentagon on July 15, 2024.

The United States and Singapore have significantly strengthened their defense alliance by signing a Statement of Intent (SOI) on Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Cooperation.

Dr. Radha Iyengar Plumb signed this new agreement, the U.S. Defense Department's Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer, and Brig. Gen. Yew Chee Leung, Singapore's Ministry of Defence Deputy Secretary (Technology).

The SOI aims to facilitate technological collaboration between the two defense establishments. It enables them to discuss approaches and exchange best practices on leveraging data, analytics, and AI at speed and scale. It also highlights key areas of collaboration, including the development of quality data, the responsible use of AI, and talent management.

This agreement builds on the longstanding cooperation between the U.S. and Singapore in defense technology, aligning with earlier agreements such as the Strategic Framework Agreement from 2005 and the Enhanced Defence Cooperation Agreement from 2015.

During a meeting at the Pentagon, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III and Singapore's Minister for Defence, Dr. Ng Eng Hen, reaffirmed the excellent defense relationship between the two countries. They also discussed the importance of AI in gaining a competitive edge in today's digital battlefield.

Dr. Ng emphasized Singapore's commitment to advancing AI in military applications and expressed appreciation for the U.S.'s enduring support in training the Singapore Armed Forces and operationalizing its F-35 aircraft.

Rocketdyne, a company with a history of providing propulsion systems for NASA's space missions, is now focusing on developing advanced rocket engines for the U.S. military. The company is working on a new generation of rocket engines that are more efficient, reliable, and powerful than their predecessors. These engines are intended to enhance the precision and range of U.S. military missiles, making them more effective in modern warfare scenarios.

One of the key technologies being developed by Rocketdyne is the Variable Flow Ducted Rocket (VFDR), which promises to increase the range and speed of missiles while reducing their size and weight. The VFDR technology combines liquid and solid propellants to achieve higher thrust levels and improved fuel efficiency. This technology could potentially revolutionize the capabilities of U.S. military missiles, allowing them to strike targets with greater precision and from longer distances.

Rocketdyne's advancements in rocket engine technology are part of a broader effort by the U.S. military to maintain its technological edge in an increasingly competitive global landscape. Investing in cutting-edge propulsion systems, the U.S. military aims to ensure its missiles remain the most effective and reliable worldwide.

Assault on Fort Wagner & Death of Robert Gould Shaw

On July 18, 1863, Union Colonel Robert Gould Shaw and 272 of his troops were killed in an assault on Fort Wagner near Charleston, South Carolina.

Shaw led the 54th Massachusetts Infantry, a Harvard-educated abolitionist, a Boston regiment of free African Americans. The regiment included Frederick Douglass's sons and Sojourner Truth's grandson. Despite heavy losses, the 54th Massachusetts reached and scaled the earthen walls of Fort Wagner, but the attack ultimately failed.

Shaw and his regiment's experience was later memorialized in the critically acclaimed 1990 movie Glory.

It’s only when they join together in a forward movement that this country moves ahead.
